The Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies is a collaboration between the Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität München, the Universität Regensburg and a further six partners. Since 2012 the School has been funded by German central and state government as part of the Initiative for Excellence. The Graduate School’s primary goal is to provide the very best facilities and environment for excellent doctoral work in the field of East and Southeast European Studies and so stimulate the development of research in this area. Further important goals are the promotion of national and international networks as well as the transfer of knowledge to the general public.
