Jacek St. Buras übersetzte ins Polnische u.a. Thomas Bernhard, Paul Celan, Ödön von Horváth, Robert Musil, Christoph Ransmayr, Werner Schwab, Marlene Streeruwitz und György Tabori. In den Jahren 1998 - 2004 war er als Direktor des Polnischen Instituts in Wien tätig.
